Each week at First Presbyterian Church, we seek to provide opportunities for people to encounter the living God through engaging in life-transforming congregational worship. Our pastors and music staff plan and organize services in a manner that is God-honoring, Christ-exalting, and Spirit-led, and invites congregants to encounter God in engaging ways through music, Scripture readings, biblical messages, and moments of prayer.
Our Ignite service invites worshipers to grow and engage in their relationship with God in a modern setting. Our music staff and pastors plan a service that holds reverence and sacredness, but also has a contemporary feel. The Ignite band plays both familiar hymns and modern songs, all of which bring glory and honor to God. Worshipers are invited to actively participate through musical worship, Scripture reading, prayer, and a biblical message.
ADULT LIFE GROUPS
The Tucker-Dean Nursery is committed to sharing the love of Jesus in a healthy environment. Children are grouped according to age in the nursery’s four rooms and are cared for by both paid and volunteer workers.
We desire to demonstrate to children of all ages that a relationship with Jesus Christ is not a remote option which can be added into one’s life at a later point in time, but rather an essential part of even a very young person’s life. Through Bible teaching and relationships with their teachers, children are taught that they have the opportunity to begin a spiritually abundant life at an early age, to live daily in grateful dependence upon the Lord, and to learn what it means to glorify God and enjoy His presence forever.
Kids Church consists of a rotation module with an age-appropriate Bible lesson, music, large motor skill activity, and fine motor skill activity. We encourage all children 2nd grade and older to attend worship with their parents so they may experience all aspects of the worship service (singing, prayers, offering, baptisms, Moment for Missions, etc.).
