Do you know someone who lives with a disability? If so, be sure they are aware of the Upstate Disability Resource Expo to be held at the Kroc Center on Sunday, August 25, at 2:00pm. First Presbyterian was asked to be an exhibitor due to our Kulture City certification and our Special Needs Ministry. Spread the word and help us to come alongside those with special needs.
Please join us in prayer for our Senior High students and leaders traveling to the Dominican Republic July 21-26. Pray that as our crew loves and serves together, they will grow stronger in their love for Jesus and learn how to make an impact in the world.

All students will be promoted on Sunday, August 11. The Children’s Ministry will have a “circus-themed” celebration. We will also have our annual Backpack Blessing in each worship service, when our pastors pray over all educators and students who are going back to school. Children are encouraged to wear their backpacks. Mark your calendars and plan to join us!
3GEN Ministries is hosting a Daddy Daughter Dance for men of the upstate area on Friday, September 13, 7:00–9:30pm at Larkin’s Sawmill Venue (22 Graves Drive, Greenville, SC 29609). It will be a fantastic evening of desserts, fun, and dancing. Dads will receive detailed instructions with creative ideas on how to create an unforgettable date night with their daughters. Everyone is invited to join The Fellowship of the Ring Book Club to read this classic tale that we know you will enjoy. We hope that you’ll be encouraged by the courage, beauty, and agape love in the telling of this story. We will meet weekly on Tuesdays, 3:30–4:30pm, August 13 through December 10. You don’t have to be there each week, but plan to come to as many as you can! Click here to register.
Singer-songwriter Skye Peterson will perform at FPC on Friday, July 19, at 7:00pm in the Student Program Space. Writing and recording since high school, she began her career as a musician after studying theology, biblical history, and hermeneutics. Based in Nashville, TN, Skye writes hymns for Getty Music and the local church, and is now performing in hopes of telling the world they are not alone and there’s a King who’s worth singing about. Tickets are available by clicking here.
FPC will welcome Tenth Avenue North: The Invited Tour on Friday, September 20, at 7:00pm, in the Worship & Arts Center. Tenth Avenue North has always been a band of deep conviction and they’ve never shied away from uncomfortable topics and asking hard questions. What they thought was the end of Tenth Avenue North in 2020—with a farewell tour disrupted by the global pandemic—turned into a four-year hiatus that sharpened the band’s focus and cemented the convictions that made them one of the most popular bands in Christian music. Purchase tickets at FirstPresGreenville.org/Events or at the FPC Box Office (new reception desk) during regular business hours. Cashless payments only.
Save the date on Sunday, September 15, at 3:00pm for a free concert presented by the First Presbyterian Church Choir and Orchestra. Celebrate the love and light of Christ through some of your favorite hymns, anthems, scripture readings, and the brand new 5-movement work, “Illuminare,” by composer Elaine Hagenberg. Prepare to be moved, inspired, and reminded of Jesus’ unique divine identity and His purpose as the light of the world. Free tickets available on July 28.
Pick up an apple from the displays around the church to help purchase new toys, claassroom supplies, and games for Hollis Academy. Pick-up and drop-off locations can be found in the Loggia, Memorial Hall, and Worship & Arts reception area. Please visit our website to view the Amazon link for a list of items needed, and bring items to the church by Sunday, July 21.
